Abstract artist Ditamontana
"Ditamontana 25year old self taught abstract artist. Never attended art school but took advanced art classes through high-school, entered contests in grade school and art showcases post high-school. Took an involuntary hiatus from art from in 2011-2014 because I wanted to feed my lifestyle instead of my soul. Slipped into a depression after the ending of a bad relationship & needed a way to express myself. A good friend & a few family members encouraged me to get back into art. I pursued it again, as a young adult, and haven’t looked back since.
The piece that I have featured is a 30x40 mixed media, abstract painting on a 1inch raised canvas. I began creating this piece with these words in mind, “go big or go home” which were spoken to me by two people, an artist by the name of artisikmind, and my girlfriend Breezy. I was intimidated by the size at first but I went straight in with no blueprint sketched or concept.
In this piece I have 2 abstract faces split in half. On top of one of the abstract faces I have the Houston skyline with a sunflower blooming out of it, which is a tribute to Houston Texas. I also have a vigilante & civilian car going to a building in the bottom right hand corner. The bottom left hand corner is the “trippy” section, full of lines and shapes. In the Top left hand corner I have 2 green leaves with insects on top, just to bring a little nature in it. This piece is currently sold and prints are available if you’re interested in purchasing.
Stay tuned for more pieces like this!"
